Learning to work with Scrivener:
Advanced
- We have 4 weekly 1 hour Skype sessions
- You learn:
- How to create a project in Scrivener
- Which templates are available in Scrivener and how to create your own templates
- How to work with binder, inspector, various views (document, corkboard, outliner) and panels in Scrivener
- How to work with folders and documents, what are the differences and why is this important
- How to use various icons
- How to work with various resources (illustrations, pdf-files, websites, etc.)
- How to import a file of a different format (especially Word or similar) into Scrivener and split it into chapters, sections, etc.
- How to edit in Scrivener (and why it makes sense to use both Word and Scrivener for editing; at what stage of editing does one or another works best)
- How to merge and split documents
- What are metadata, and why they are not only important but also handy
- How to compile the manuscript into various formats (manuscript for submission to an agent/publisher, e-book, paperback)
- How to finalize the paperback formatting in MS Word
- Which are good references for learning how to work with Scrivener and where it is the best to search for information
- You apply what you’ve learned to your work-in-progress and demonstrate at the subsequent Skype session
- You get a possibility for Q&A e-mail consulting in-between the Skype sessions and during the month after the last one
